Hi, I’m Lazara Briones — a NICU nurse at Stanford with 33 years of experience caring for the most fragile newborns in the world, and a certified IBCLC lactation consultant who has walked alongside thousands of parents through the beautiful, humbling journey of feeding and caring for their babies. I’m also a mom of three, so I’m not just speaking from a clinical perspective — I’ve sat in exactly the seat you’re sitting in right now.
No textbook, no YouTube video, and no well-meaning relative fully prepares you for the moment you walk through your front door with your newborn. That gap between what you’ve read and what you’re actually feeling in that moment — that’s why I created this class.
My personal and professional experience has equipped me with the skills to guide you through the exciting, and sometimes overwhelming, journey of caring for your newborn. I am a Sleep Wellness Consultant, Craniosacral Fascial Therapist, Certified Infant Massage Educator, CPR Instructor, Certified Babywearing Consultant, and Perinatal/Postnatal Nutrition Certified — and I bring all of that into one room, for you, in four hours.
I believe in a holistic approach that goes far beyond latch and feeding schedules. True confidence as a new parent comes from understanding your baby’s cues, keeping them safe, nourishing your own body, and feeling supported every step of the way. This class weaves together newborn care, breastfeeding education, hands-on CPR certification, and the kind of real, honest guidance you won’t find in a hospital pamphlet.
By the end of our time together, you will leave feeling informed, empowered, and genuinely ready — not just for the first feed, but for the whole beautiful, messy, extraordinary journey ahead.
